Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) is a therapy that utilises eye movements and questioning techniques to change a particular thought pattern that may be problematic. The technique creates change by reducing the emotions out of memories and works on the neural pathways that holds traumatic memories together. IEMT encourages movement of the eyes in certain ways that leads to relief of unwanted memories, flashbacks and associated triggers.
It is a content free therapy which means you do not have to talk to me about the particular issue or go over upsetting memories which can be an attractive alternative to talk therapy.
